The Centers Expands WinMAT Services with New Uptown Location Offering Walk-In Medication- Assisted Treatment

May 5, 2025

CLEVELAND, OH – May 5, 2025 | Building on the success of its groundbreaking launch last year, The Centers is proud to announce the expansion of its Walk-in Medication Assisted Treatment Clinic (WinMAT), with a second site opening at its Uptown office located at 12201 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH. This expansion was made possible in part through generous funding from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation and the Mt. Sinai Health Foundation to bring WinMAT to the Uptown/University Circle neighborhood.

The new WinMAT site is strategically co-located near The Centers’ Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC), on-site laboratory, and in-house pharmacy, creating a seamless and efficient care experience for individuals seeking immediate support for opioid use disorder (OUD). The expansion reflects The Centers’ enduring commitment to timely, compassionate, and integrated care—and directly responds to the continued, urgent need for accessible treatment options in Northeast Ohio.

This new clinic is housed in The Centers’ Uptown Integrated Health & Wellness location, formerly The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland—a historic site nationally recognized as the first location to launch a needle exchange program to combat the spread of HIV. That commitment to harm reduction continues today through The Centers’ Syringe Services Program, a vital component of a comprehensive Harm Reduction strategy focused on health, dignity, and survival for people who use drugs.

The original WinMAT clinic at 5209 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44102, located in The Centers’ Gordon Square Health & Wellness Center, launched in 2024 and has since seen overwhelming demand and meaningful outcomes. The Uptown site will continue this legacy, offering same-day evaluations, personalized treatment plans, and no pre-treatment requirements, removing common barriers to care. WinMAT provides a full spectrum of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options, including Suboxone, Sublocade, Vivitrol, and now Brixadi, a new long-acting injectable recently added to enhance flexibility and support individual treatment preferences.

Both scheduled appointments and walk-in patients are welcome. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and walk-in patients are asked to arrive before 3:30 p.m. to ensure same-day service.

“Expanding WinMAT to Uptown is a direct reflection of our mission to meet people where they are—with dignity, urgency, and compassion,” said Eric Morse, President and CEO of The Centers. “By locating this site near BHUC, pharmacy, and lab services, we are making it as easy as possible for people to begin their recovery journey without delay.”

As with the original site, WinMAT at Uptown offers a welcoming, stigma-free environment forindividuals experiencing OUD, regardless of usage status, insurance coverage, or ability to pay. “We’re here when you’re ready,” emphasized Dr. Elena Yanchar, Chief of Psychiatry. “Everyone deserves access to treatment that respects their readiness and supports their healing.”
