About our Program

The Community Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner Fellowship is a customized, postgraduate program, grounded in nursing, focused on clinical skill building and successful role socialization into the PMHNP position. The transition year between graduate school and the first year of NP practice sets the stage for ongoing career success. This Psychiatric NP Fellowship is a postgraduate training program grounded in core nursing concepts, addressing transition gaps between academia and the workplace.

This Fellowship seeks newly graduating psychiatric NPs with a desire to embed their ongoing work with the vulnerable and underserved populations in the North Eastern Ohio region.

About our Curriculum

NP Fellows work in the clinic setting receiving concurrent, competency based supervision provided by experienced psychiatric advanced practice nurses. Collaborative training with psychiatrists, psychiatry residents and clinical pharmacy is valued and utilized. Competency based mentoring focuses on expanding diagnostic skills, utilizing evidenced based psychopharmacology, the application of psychotherapy appropriate to the setting, and healthy socialization into the advanced practice role. Customized workshops and group supervision compliment the process-based training.

Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio community is an incredible place to grow your career and make a real impact. Learn more about what we love about our hometown.
