CLEVELAND, OH – September 28, 2026 - Today The Centers begins operating the Glick Recovery Campus as a new model of behavioral health crisis care for Cuyahoga County.
Located in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood at 2322 E. 22nd Street, the Glick Recovery Campus is designed around the least restrictive model of care, providing people experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis with immediate access to compassionate, person-centered support in an environment built specifically for crisis care.
The model places an emphasis on rapid engagement and voluntary access. The Glick Recovery Campus is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and walk-ins are encouraged. No referral or appointment is required. First responders can bring individuals directly to the campus without calling ahead, allowing them to quickly transfer care and return to the community in under five minutes.
This new model of care gives first responders a dedicated behavioral health destination where individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis can be connected directly to specialized assessment, stabilization and treatment, rather than waiting in emergency departments or being routed through the justice system when behavioral health care is what they need.
“The Glick Recovery Campus represents a fundamentally different way of responding to behavioral health crises,” said Dr. Elena Yanchar, Chair of Psychiatry and Glick Recovery Campus Medical Director, The Centers. “We designed this campus around a simple belief: when someone is in crisis, they deserve to be met with dignity, compassion and the least restrictive level of care that can safely meet their needs. This campus creates a new front door to behavioral health care in Cuyahoga County.”
Every aspect of the campus, from its purpose-built environment to its reclining chairs instead of traditional hospital beds, is designed to create a welcoming, person-centered experience. Guests are greeted by peer support specialists with lived experience of mental health or addiction crises, alongside specially trained staff with additional training in de-escalation, customer service and crisis care.
The opening represents years of collaboration among The Centers, Cuyahoga County, first responders, healthcare providers, community organizations, philanthropic partners and people with lived experience. The campus reflects a shared commitment to strengthening behavioral health crisis response across Cuyahoga County and creating a more effective pathway to care for those in need.
“This project faced challenges along the way, but our community never lost sight of the need. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped turn this vision into reality,” said Eric L. Morse, President and CEO, The Centers. “And especially to the residents and leaders of Cleveland’s Central neighborhood, who welcomed us, shared their perspectives and helped us build something that is truly for the community. This campus belongs to all the people who came together to create a better response to crisis.”
The three-floor campus brings multiple levels of care together, creating a pathway from immediate crisis intervention to stabilization and longer-term services. The broader Glick Recovery Campus includes crisis care and stabilization, recovery support services, primary care, behavioral health services, pharmacy services and connections to ongoing community-based support.
