HIV Self-Test Kit

PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW ORAQUICK TEST INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!

Negative Result: 

  • If your HIV self-test result is negative, you are on a prevention pathway 
  • To ensure you remain negative, HIV prevention includes: 
    • Condom use 
    • PrEP- (Pre-exposure prophylaxis) A medication that can be taken (usually daily) to prevent contracting HIV if you have an exposure 
    • PEP- (Post-exposure prophylaxis) A medication taken after an HIV exposure (up to 72 hours after exposure) to prevent the virus from reproducing in your body and infecting you 
  • If you use syringes, access our syringe service program 
  • If you are interested in PrEP or need PEP, please call our office or stop in to see our provider! 

 

Disclaimer: Even if your self-test results are negative, if you have had an exposure to HIV within the last 3 months, you could still have HIV. It takes around 3 months for an HIV infection to be reflected on rapid HIV tests. 

Positive Result: 

  • If your HIV self-test results are positive, don’t panic! Have a look through the included “What if I am Positive?” pamphlet. 
  • Call our office to schedule an appointment! We will need to run a confirmatory test to ensure your self-test was not a false positive. If you are confirmed to have HIV, we are here to help you start and maintain your care to suppress your viral load and ensure you live a healthy life! 
  • We will get you scheduled for an appointment with one of our HIV case managers and a medical provider to get you started on treatment.
