A New Resource for First Responders
Connect individuals experiencing a behavioral health or substance use crisis to
compassionate, trauma-informed care in under five minutes.
Too often, access to behavioral health care is delayed by crowded emergency departments, lengthy intake processes, and limited crisis resources. The Glick Recovery Campus removes these barriers through 24/7 availability, a dedicated sally port for direct drop-offs, and a simplified handoff process that allows first responders to transfer care in under five minutes and get back to serving the community.
For Law Enforcement
Our team accepts individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises who are medically stable, including those brought under an involuntary psychiatric hold or probate status. Please note that police holds are not accepted. During the handoff, officers will provide basic identification and incident information so our clinical team can quickly assume responsibility for care.
For Fire, EMS, CIT+
SIMPLE FIELD RULE: Are they medically stable? If yes, bring them to Glick Recovery Campus
During the handoff, clinical staff will collect vital signs, medical observations, medications, and other relevant assessment information to support a seamless transition of care. Our team is trained to respond to mental health crises, substance use disorders, withdrawal concerns, suicidal ideation, psychosis, anxiety, and depression in a secure, therapeutic environment.
The Sally Port: Simple, Secure, and Fast
Our dedicated sally port was built specifically for first responders, creating a streamlined transfer process that allows you to safely hand off care and get back on the road in under five minutes.
Step 1: Arrive and Enter
First responders use the dedicated E. 22nd Street entrance; no call-ahead, referral, or approval is needed.
Step 2: Handoff
First responder and guest will ring the doorbell by the double doors and a nurse and peer support specialist will meet you, collect basic information and take over the guest’s care.
Step 3: Depart in Under 5 Minutes
First responders are free to leave or use the First Responder Lounge; the handoff is designed to take less than five minutes.
